We think the ‘Affric Kintail Way ‘ is one of the spectacular long distance walking routes in Scotland. This fully supported 3 day trip, will take you through some of the most inspiring scenery in the Highland’s. Starting in Drumnadrochit on the shores of Loch Ness, the route will take you through the Caledonian Pinewoods of Glen Affric, eventually giving way to the rugged peaks of the Five Sisters of Kintail to the west. This trip is supported by the National Trust for Scotland, Ranger Service based at Kintail.

Now considered one of Scotland’s finest multi-day walks, the Affric Kintail Way is still somewhat of an insider tip. Officially opened in 2015, the 4-stage trek crosses from Drumnadrochit, by famous Loch Ness, to Kintail where it ends near Loch Duich on the water front. The 44 miles in between are packed with some of the most stunning and remote scenery the Highlands have to offer to those on a trail. At this level of remoteness we should keep our eyes open for ospreys, otters and red deer.

The Affric Kintail Way is a superb cross-country route from Drumnadrochit on the banks of Loch Ness, to Morvich on the west coast. This trail works its way westwards through the stunning Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, taking us to some of the most remote places on any of our treks. On night 4 we will stay at the Glen Affric Youth Hostel (Alltbeithe) in the heart of Glen Affric, before our final day's trekking through the Kintail mountains to Morvich.
