The following additional information is provided to assist those travelling the Affric Kintail Way on horseback.
Services for riders/horses
It is hoped that as the Affric Kintail Way develops facilities for all users will be enhanced. In the meantime the following may be of particular interest to horse riders.
Accommodation for both horses and riders can be obtained by contacting Great Glen B & B in Glenurquhart and also at Kerrow House near Cannich.
There are no vets or farriers in the Drumnadrochit - Cannich but both Conanvet based near Dingwall (01349 861203) and farrier Keith Hedley from Invershin (01549 421234 or in emergency 07774418852) come highly recommended. Both offer callout services.
Grazing for ponies can be arranged on National Trust for Scotland property at West Affric and Kintail by getting in touch with Kintail Ranger Service – 01599 511231 email kintail@nts.org.uk.
